Window Repair Cumbria fills a growing gap in the window and door industry. While there are many double glazing companies that are keen to sell and install new windows and doors, few are willing to do the remedial calls when parts fail, or undertake essential maintenance to prevent failure.

At Window Repair Cumbria you do not have to deal with a national call centre or salesmen, who are more interested in their commission than your products. You will speak with the engineer, who will investigate your repair, provide you with a quotation, source the required parts and carry out the repair. There are little overheads and you do not have to pay for expensive TV or newspaper marketing campaigns in your bill.

Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about our company.

What are your working hours?

We usually work from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday. But we are flexible to adjust our working times to your needs, if required. We will aim to see you as soon as possible, at a pre-arranged time which is convenient to you.

When is the best time to call you?

The best times are between 8am and 8pm. If we are unable to take your call, please leave your phone number and we will call you back as soon as possible.

Where are you based?

We operate from Workington and are working in the north and west of Cumbria.

Which areas do you cover?

We offer the complete repair service in Allerdale, Copeland, and Carlisle. This includes the major towns and surrounding areas of Workington, Cockermouth, Maryport, Whitehaven, Egremont, Cleator Moor, Bothel, Aspatria, Wigton, Silloth. We will also visit customers who are more than 30 miles from Workington when we are in their area.

Call Out Fee

We do not charge a call out fee.

Quotations

Our quotations are free and there is no obligation for you to order the work. It may be possible to give you an estimate when you call, but in most cases we need to inspect the problem before we can give you a quotation.

Parts

Our van is stocked with the most common replacement parts, and we are able to repair many problems on our first visit. However, if we need to order any parts, we will provide them for you as quickly as possible from our network of suppliers.

Our replacement glass units are manufactured in Cumbria, and where possible we will try to use local suppliers to support the economy in Cumbria.

Workmanship

We are passionate about repairs and aim to work to the highest standards. We have the skills and knowledge to identify all problems and will find the most cost effective solution for you.

Guarantee

All replacement parts come with a manufacturers warranty and we will replace failed parts under warranty for free, if they were installed by us.

Complaints

We strive to provide you with a first class service. However, should you not be happy with the service you have received, please let us know, and we will try to resolve your complaint directly, there and then. In case you are not happy with the way your complaint was handled, you are encouraged to follow our formal complaints procedure.

VAT

VAT is due on all our work and parts. VAT is a legal requirement, and we also have to pay VAT on all replacement parts or glass units. We are a serious business who will not employ any tricks to avoid taxes.

Payment

Unless otherwise agreed upon quotation, full payment is required on completion of the work. Title or ownership of the goods will pass to the customer only after full payment has been received. We accept payment in cash or cheque.

Planning Permission

Planning permission is not required for repairs or any like for like replacement parts.

Building Regulations

In most cases, like for like repairs do not require approval by Building Control. We will advise you if your windows, doors or conservatories do not comply with the latest Building Regulations, so you can make an educated choice whether you wish to upgrade your products or not. In any case, we will only carry out work which complies with the regulations - for your and our peace of mind.
